Job summary

Altasciences in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Supervisor, Research Associate to lead a team conducting in-life studies across multiple animal models. The role combines hands-on animal research with people leadership, ensuring higher standards of scientific quality and welfare.

You will mentor staff, coordinate study planning, and ensure adherence to protocols, timelines, and regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Biology, Veterinary Technology, Life Sciences, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of animal research experience.
• At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a research or lab animal setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Research Associates and Research Specialists in-life study activities.
• Coordinate planning, scheduling, and execution of preclinical studies with Study Directors and Scientists.
• Provide oversight for animal procedures, data collection, and study documentation; ensure GLP and animal welfare compliance.
• Promote excellence in animal welfare and regulatory compliance across the team.
• Develop, review, and improve SOPs; monitor goals and study deliverables; communicate status to management.
