Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking an experienced Research Analyst II to serve as lead/primary technician for basic and moderately complex studies, developing and performing laboratory procedures, and mentoring less experienced staff.

The role requires coordinating study timelines, ensuring GLP compliance, data capture, and collaboration with scientific staff. Overtime and weekend coverage may be required; compensation ranges from $27.00 to $29.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science or related discipline.
• 2–4 years of related lab experience (biology, chemistry, or similar).
• Experience with GLPs and SOPs.
• Ability to read and review study protocols and extract key information.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead technicians on assigned studies and coordinate procedures.
• Review peers' activities to ensure adherence to study requirements.
• Prepare, conduct, and oversee technical activities for assigned studies with scientific staff.
• Maintain study notebooks and data collection documentation.
• Manage timelines, resources, and prioritization with supervision.
• Perform GLP-compliant data collection and record data.
• Develop and review basic to complex study protocols.
• Document deviations and incidents and address them per procedures.
• Assist in developing SOPs and processes.
• Maintain clean work areas and support development of new techniques.
• Overtime/weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
