Schedule: Monday - Friday; 6am - 2:30pm

Position Purpose

The Lead Rental Technician (LRT) is a skilled technician responsible for equipment repairs on light construction equipment such as skid steers, chippers, trenchers, and mini-excavators. This role reports directly to the regional manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Communication: Clearly communicate with teammates, store associates, technicians, and customers. Provide expert knowledge on equipment operation and safety requirements.
  2. Compliance: Safety & DOT: Deploy new equipment, perform PDIs, train store staff and customers, and ensure safety standards are met. Travel less than 15% overnight.
  3. Equipment Repairs: Maintain rental equipment, diagnose and repair engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and more. Manage parts inventory and document work performed.
Management & Travel
  • Reports to Regional Field Operations Manager.
  • Typically less than 10% overnight travel.
Physical & Working Conditions
  • Stand, walk, lift moderate weights, and work in environments with dust, fumes, or odors.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Read and understand technical manuals.
  • Customer service experience and familiarity with handheld technology.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in gas/diesel engine repair, industrial equipment.
  • Technical or trade school education.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
