Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced AWS WorkSpaces Migration Architect to lead large-scale EUC and VDI migrations to AWS WorkSpaces. You will design, architect, and deliver secure, automated cloud-based desktop environments while guiding migration strategy and image management.

The role emphasizes hands-on AWS WorkSpaces, Terraform IaC, FSLogix, and CI/CD automation, with strong client-facing architecture responsibilities. Remote USA work model and competitive compensation offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
14+ years of experience in EUC, VDI, Desktop Virtualization, or Cloud Workspace solutions.
8+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and AWS WorkSpaces.
Proven experience leading large-scale desktop migration and workplace modernization initiatives.
Strong client-facing consulting and architecture experience.
Experience working in enterprise-scale environments with thousands of virtual desktop users.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end discovery, assessment, mapping, sizing and migration planning for AWS WorkSpaces transformations.
Define migration roadmaps, pilot deployments, waves, cutovers and rollback procedures.
Architect and optimize AWS WorkSpaces Personal and Pools environments.
Design desktop pool strategies aligned with personas, security and ops goals.
Develop scalable AWS WorkSpaces architectures including HA, DR and capacity planning.
Create and implement user profile persistence strategies using FSLogix, App Layering and related tech.
Recommend desktop delivery models (Persistent/Non-Persistent/Hybrid) per requirements.
Optimize application delivery, virtualization, and enterprise data access in the VDI.
Establish Golden Image Management with lifecycle and automation.
Develop IaC modules for AWS WorkSpaces, VPC, networking and IAM.
Design CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins and CodePipeline.
Enable GitOps-driven deployments with automated testing & governance.
Collaborate with clients, cloud, security and ops teams for successful delivery.
