Responsibilities
  1. Perform front desk workflows, including patient registration, scheduling, phone triage, cash handling, and check-in/check-out, while maintaining professional customer service.
  2. Maintain current knowledge of insurance cards and billing requirements to obtain accurate demographic, financial, and clinical information and signatures from patients or their representatives, following Medicare, State, and Federal guidelines.
  3. Collect copays and attempt to collect any outstanding debts.
  4. Perform pre-registration as needed, ensure patient forms are current, and assist patients with completing forms.
  5. Schedule patients for physical exams, appointments, or procedures.
  6. Manage patient flow by collaborating with staff and providers.
  7. Accurately balance the cash drawer and petty cash, and complete end-of-day financial procedures, including deposits.
Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of registration or unit secretary experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in medical assisting is preferred.
