Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide safe and effective respiratory care across patient populations. The role includes education for patients, caregivers, staff and students, and may serve as shift team leader in the supervisor's absence.

Requirements include Virginia licensure as a Respiratory Therapist and NBRC RRT certification/registry, CPR, and 1 year of RT experience. Additional credentials like ACLS/PALS may be preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• RRT certification/registry required.

Responsibilities

• Cardiopulmonary assessment and monitoring, including during emergencies.
• Airway care and selecting ventilator settings in consultation with physicians.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and coordinate with interdisciplinary team.
• Perform shift team leader duties in supervisor's absence, if applicable.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (CoARC accredited)

NBRC RRT certification/registry
