Job summary

Baird, Hampton & Brown seeks a full-time Registered Professional Land Surveyor to lead the Grapevine office's surveying operations. You will supervise field and office staff, manage projects, prepare scopes of work and budgets, and ensure quality and compliance with Texas laws and ALTA/NSPS standards.

You will collaborate with the Fort Worth team, develop client relationships, review surveys for accuracy, and mentor junior staff while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor license.
• Minimum of three years of project-management and personnel-management experience.
• Strong knowledge of professional land surveying concepts and methods.
• Experience preparing and reviewing ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, topographic surveys, subdivision plats, easements, and legal descriptions.
• Proficiency with modern surveying workflows, GNSS, robotic total stations, and data collection.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day surveying operations of the Grapevine office.
• Supervise, schedule, mentor, and support field and office surveying personnel.
• Coordinate staffing and workload assignments based on project priorities and resources.
• Prepare scopes of work, fee proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage multiple surveying projects from proposal through final delivery.
• Review surveying deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide leadership and training to surveying staff.
