Job summary

Spring Grove Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New Providence, NJ is seeking a Lead RN for a full-time night shift from 11 PM to 7 AM. The Lead RN provides hands-on clinical leadership, mentors nursing staff, and coordinates daily operations to ensure high-quality resident care.

Licensed NJ RN with BLS CPR, at least two years of nursing experience, strong communication, and knowledge of long-term care regulations are required.

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in New Jersey
• BLS Certification ( CPR ) required
• Ability to manage care for multiple residents simultaneously
• Leadership training will be provided (not required)
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of long-term care regulations and practices
• Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians and partners

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per orders, care plans and standards
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff

• Monitor resident status, respond to changes, and communicate with physicians

Responsibilities for Lead RN:

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and accepted standards of nursing practice.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support throughout each shift.
• Assist with coordinating daily nursing operations to ensure quality resident care and appropriate staffing coverage.
• Monitor resident conditions, respond to changes in status, and communicate concerns to physicians and nursing leadership.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements.
• Support compliance with infection-prevention, safety, and nursing policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote positive resident outcomes.
• Assist with orienting and training new nursing staff as needed.

Qualifications for Lead RN:

• Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey required.
• Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
• Ability to effectively manage the care of multiple residents simultaneously.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting required.
• Previous supervisory experience is not required; leadership training will be provided.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations governing long-term care.
• Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, and community partners.
