What You’ll Do
  1. Coordinate with Dentist and General Manager to provide work direction and training to RDAs
  2. Instruments: Sterilize dental instruments and equipment for each patient; organize and lay out instruments; hand instruments and other materials to the dentist during procedures
  3. Patients/Interpersonal: Question patients about medical history and record information; advise on dental care; help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after treatment
  4. Patients/Clinical: Take x-rays; take impressions; make temporary crowns
  5. Assisting Dentist/Preparation: Prepare cements, composites, impression materials
  6. Assisting Dentist/Patient Care: Use suction and swabs; apply topical anesthetic; place and remove rubber dams, matrices, wedges; apply cavity lines and bases
  7. Administration: Obtain dental records; complete dental charting
  8. Infection Control: Manage infection control to conform to CDC, OSHA, ADA standards; follow sterilization and disinfection guidelines
  9. Team Support: Assist in other areas of the clinic as requested
  10. Community Outreach: Promote JDC at neighborhood events and through community visits
  11. Organize and lay out instruments for specialized procedures
  12. Prepare cements, amalgam, composite, impression materials
  13. Inventory control and management
  14. Make temporary crowns
  15. Apply sealants after certification
  16. Monitor nitrous oxide patients after certification
