Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA seeks a Principal System Modeling & Simulation Engineer to design, develop, validate, and maintain dynamic simulations and test infrastructures for complex aerospace systems. You will lead or collaborate with a small team to advance high-fidelity models and hardware-in-the-loop capabilities.

You will develop CONOPs and requirements, integrate 3D visualization tools, and evolve an in-house real-time software framework within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (PhD preferred).
• 7-10 years of Systems Engineering or related experience.
• Significant experience with C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience developing simulations within aerospace or defense contexts.
• Ability to architect, integrate, verify and validate system-level simulations.

Responsibilities

• Architect, integrate, verify and validate system-level simulations within an aerospace project lifecycle.
• Lead a small team of engineers or work independently as needed.
• Develop simulation CONOPs, use cases, and requirements.
• Design simulation architecture with interfaces, facilities, infrastructure and models.
• Write and automate test plans for simulations and interfaces.
• Develop real-time hardware interfaces and integrate legacy and new models.
• Integrate 3D visualization tools and in-house real-time software framework.
