Job summary

SelectLeaders is seeking a Senior Real Estate Development Accountant to lead budgeting and financial management for affordable housing development projects from predevelopment through stabilization. The role reports to the Controller of Housing and partners with multiple teams to ensure accurate reporting, disbursements, and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; CPA preferred.
5–8+ years of accounting experience in real estate development, with affordable housing exposure.
Experience managing construction loan draws and development/construction budgets.
Strong knowledge of LIHTC transactions and affordable housing financing structures.
Advanced Excel skills and Yardi proficiency for job costing and reporting.

Responsibilities

Participate in development meetings to provide financial updates and risk assessment.
Review proposals and contracts for fiscal responsibility and alignment with budgets.
Prepare budget-to-actual analyses and variance reports for leadership and stakeholders.
Coordinate with tax advisors, agencies, and partners on budgets, 8609 filings, and carryover allocations.
Ensure regulatory, lender, investor, and funding compliance; support audits and funder reporting.
Lead construction loan draw process and reconcile across systems; monitor cash flow.
