Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry or related field with 3–4 years in an analytical chemistry lab within pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience with sample preparative chemistry and wet chemistry analysis per compendial monograph procedures.
• Understanding of instrumental analysis procedures utilized in a modern chemistry laboratory.
• Demonstrated competence with computer applications and programs related to laboratory applications.
• Knowledge of sampling methods and quality control systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, schedule and perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw material samples according to established procedures and regulatory guidelines; ensure testing is completed within timelines.
• Reviews and interprets test results for accuracy and compliance; notifies management of out-of-spec results and leads investigations with minimal supervision.
• Supervises maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical equipment (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, TOC, wet chemistry) to ensure instruments operate within standards; coordinates repairs as needed.
• Ensures team members maintain proficiency with equipment, systems, and SOPs specific to raw material analysis.
• Keeps current with advances in analytical techniques, instrumentation, and regulatory expectations for raw material testing in pharma.
• Provides leadership and support across all raw material testing workstations, facilitating cross-training and backup coverage.
• Ensures meticulous and compliant documentation of all raw material testing activities, results, and investigations in accordance with cGMP and data integrity requirements.
• Leads the development, revision, and review of SOPs and laboratory documentation for raw material testing; updates to align with regulatory changes.
