Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge in Mesquite, NV to oversee construction, maintenance and safety compliance for freight railroads and transit systems.

The CIC will supervise worksite safety, coordinate with dispatchers and engineers, and ensure adherence to FRA and railroad policies while traveling up to 85% of the time. NRSS emphasizes rigorous training and safety excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of railroad experience, preferably in MOW/TY&E.
• Ability to travel 50%–85% of the time.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successfully completes all required federal, client, and company training.
• Strong computer, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Conduct job briefings and ensure FRA 49 CFR 214 compliance.
• Monitor track conditions and ensure safe clearance from trains.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors.
• Document daily logs, briefings, and incident reports.
• Enforce Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
