Brown University Health seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist Supervisor to oversee radiology staff and student education. You will schedule holidays and coverage, guide performance, and ensure efficient patient flow and imaging quality.
Responsibilities include QC of radiographs, maintaining ALARA standards, and managing inventories while supporting geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients within the Rhode Island Hospital radiology department.

Under the general supervision of Manager, Medical Imaging, following established policies and procedures, oversees and coordinates the work of Radiologic Technologists and support personnel in the performance of a variety of technical radiologic procedures. Provides guidance and supervision to technologist and students on imaging procedures. Assures efficient scheduling of patients and room availability; develops appropriate work schedules for staff to support anticipated needs. Maintains appropriate inventories of medical and radiology supplies, assures operating integrity of equipment and performs clerical and administrative functions as necessary. Regularly performs all functions of a Radiologic Technologist. Maintains highest level of compliance by meeting regulatory needs of but not limited to American College of Radiology and The Joint Commission. All essential functions performed in the position reflect age specific needs of the geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients. Registration through the American Registry for radiologic technologists as well as two years formal training in an accredited School of radiologic Technology required. Current and valid license from the Department of Health to practice in the State of Rhode Island. Must hold a current CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers. Ability to operate all types of radiographic and related equipment, push portable radiographic equipment, and transfer and position patients. Conceptual ability to determine means of providing the requested radiographs of acceptable diagnostic quality based on the specifics of each case. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, to instruct students and employees in radiologic technique, and provides leadership to other employees. Ability to organize and coordinate the operation of a unit. Analytical skills to compile and interpret routine data. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
One to two years of increasing responsibility and experience in a hospital Radiology Department.
Work location is in Main Radiology Department or in smaller satellite operation where there is little discomfort due to noise, dust, or temperature. Exposure to radiation, but with little chance of illness or injury when established safety precautions are followed. Continuous standing, walking, pushing of portable radiographic equipment, and lifting and positioning patients is required. Some exposure to odors from human waste and chemicals from automatic film processing equipment.
Pay Range: $39.56-$65.28
