Saab, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team in East Syracuse, NY, to develop complex surveillance systems for government and commercial customers.

The role centers on leading design, requirements management, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, reliable solutions. You will work on primary and secondary radar systems, produce specifications, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to meet technical, cost, and schedule goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in safety-critical industries (aerospace/defense/medical/nuclear).
• Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork.
• Proficiency with electromechanical and/or embedded software systems.
• Experience with requirements management, system design and system integration.
• Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills.
• Domestic and international travel may be required (less than 2 weeks/yr).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical investigations and top-level design for new features and changes.
• Lead development of radar products for safety-critical surveillance.
• Develop and maintain specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to balance interests and meet objectives.
• Support cost and schedule objectives while managing risks.
• Propose new technologies to enhance product performance.
• Assist with technical and cost proposals for future programs.
