Job summary

Martin Marietta Covington, VA is seeking a Foreman to direct, manage and contribute to the aggregate operation with responsibilities for safety, environmental, maintenance, quality, and other production activities. The foreman will lead a tenured, technically skilled team and focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

You will participate in daily planning, scheduling plant and pit activities, and provide input to process improvements while ensuring policies are followed and

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Possess VA Dept of Energy Division of Mineral Mining Surface Foreman Certification.
• 4+ years related experience.
• MSHA Part 46 Trained.

Responsibilities

• Supervises hourly production employees
• Ensures safety and health policies are followed
• Complies with environmental programs, guidelines and policies
• Provides training and guidance to the hourly workforce
• Fosters positive teamwork
• Active in planning and scheduling plant and pit activities on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to reach production and maintenance targets
• Provides input to process improvements
• May participate in project or planning activities that go beyond day-to-day supervision of the team
