Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a Lead Technical Strategist / Solutions Architect to bridge deep R&D with commercial go-to-market strategy. Translate quantum networking, sensing, and compute into clear value propositions for customers and feed insights into the roadmap.

This is a high-visibility, individual-contributor role; you will engage with physicists, program managers, and executives to shape technical strategy and customer outcomes, focusing on deal progression and roadmap impact rather than quota.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in the field or related industry.
• Strong grounding in the fundamentals of quantum physics; PhD or equivalent hands-on experience acceptable.
• 2+ years in an industry setting, including 1+ years in external/customer-facing capacity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for executive audiences.
• Experience managing projects and stakeholders across internal and external parties.

Responsibilities

• Build go-to-market assets that clearly explain IonQ's quantum capabilities.
• Partner with the sales team to lead technical discussions and explore use-case fit.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, and program management to align delivery with promises.
• Channel customer and market feedback into technology roadmap planning and prioritization.
• Act as a trusted technical voice for both external stakeholders and internal teams.
