Job description

Schneider Electric is seeking a Quality Technician - Team Lead at our West Chester, Ohio facility.

The Quality Technician - Team Lead will oversee testing and quality assurance processes for power distribution components and equipment in an engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environment. You will lead a team of testers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining high product quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor electric testers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Ensure compliance with UL, ANSI, and ISO standards.
2. Quality Assurance: Develop and implement testing protocols to meet quality specifications and regulatory standards.
3. Data Analysis: Analyze test results, identify trends, and prepare reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
4. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training on testing techniques, safety standards, and quality control.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address quality issues and improve processes.
6. Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance testing methodologies, efficiency, and defect reduction.
7. Testing Oversight: Coordinate electrical testing procedures, including functional, safety, and performance tests such as Hipot, contact resistance, and insulation testing. Perform live electrical testing and inspections of switchboards and switchgear products ranging from 480V to 38kV.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Perform live electrical testing (Hipot, contact resistance, insulation testing).
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical devices.
• Knowledge of general-purpose test equipment.
• Understanding of power distribution equipment and testing practices.
• Strong communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship preferred.
• Experience in switchgear manufacturing and/or testing is essential.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing, kneeling, bending, and ladder climbing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
