Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Lead Operations/Quality Technician in Jefferson, GA to guide the quality function and ensure compliant, safe, and efficient plant operations. You will partner with the Plant Manager to sustain FDA, OSHA, EPA programs and drive continuous improvement in quality and safety.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong documentation, and experience with SQF and HACCP. Airgas offers comprehensive benefits and room for growth in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience within Quality Assurance in a processing environment.
• Extremely organized with demonstrated skills administering quality and technical programs, including plant filing system and document control.
• Working knowledge of Food Safety Programs including SQF, HACCP.
• Understanding of air separation, refrigeration, CO2 technologies.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude for plant equipment maintenance.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to document procedures.

Responsibilities

• Guide and sustain EPA, FDA and Food Safety Programs, SQF, HACCP, SOPs and other compliance programs.
• Welcome and guide customer or 3rd party Quality or Food Safety Audits.
• Maintain Customer Compliance Log; investigate quality complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Partner as a technical resource to all departments.
• Update and maintain product specifications and processes with operators and technicians.
• Facilitate GMP training programs and conduct mock recalls.
• Promote safe work habits and safety culture; author procedures as needed.
• Assist with training tools and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Maintain regulatory alignment and recordkeeping across the site.
