Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to lead inspection and test activities for the SPARC project. You will perform daily inspections on precision components and review material certifications, dimensional inspection results, and other quality reports, ensuring adherence to specifications.

The role requires 5+ years in advanced mechanical inspections, GD&T expertise, and proficiency with CMMs and 3D scanning technologies.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
GD&T training or strong GD&T background required.
5+ years experience in advanced mechanical inspections.
Proficient interpretation and usage of ASME Y14.5 (GD&T).
Ability to set up, maintain, and use inspection hand tools (caliper, micrometer, bore gages, rings & plug gages, profilometer, coating thickness gage, comparator, sine bar).
Experience with CMM, Romer Arm, 3D scanning and tactile probing (Creaform).

Responsibilities

Conduct dimensional inspection of high precision machined components at receiving, in-process and pre-assembly stages.
Execute inspections to required accuracy.
Prepare and document detailed inspection reports and nonconformances.
Analyze vendor dimensional inspection reports.
Review and approve inspection and material test reports from vendors.
Support other mechanical testing and welding inspection needs.
Support ISO 9001:2015 activities on the shop floor.
Review blueprints to ensure materials and specifications.
Interface with technicians on quality issues and interpret drawings.
