Job summary

EnerSys Advanced Systems is seeking a Supervisory QA Technician to oversee the inspection team, perform mechanical and electrical inspections, and develop inspection procedures. You will mentor staff, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and maintain inspection records in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Requires leadership experience, an associate degree or equivalent, and hands-on experience with CMM tooling and precision instruments.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 30–45 pounds, and sit/stand/walk as required.
• Experience programming and performing inspections using CMM / Keyence or equivalent test equipment.
• Proficiency with hand tools for precision measurement (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Basic electrical and/or mechanical inspection knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Receiving and In-process QA Technicians / Inspectors, including setting priorities for their responsibilities.
• Perform mechanical and electrical inspections using inspection tooling and test equipment.
• Perform mechanical inspections using automated CMM equipment.
• Develop / revise Inspection procedures to reflect best practice.
• Develop inspection procedures and programs for the CMM.
• Mentor and train inspection personnel on facility processes / procedures.
• Work with other facility and line of business personnel on inspection best practices.
• Assists site personnel in summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. Writes reports and summaries as directed.
• Record/Maintain Inspection results.
• Write Material Action requests (MAR) for discrepant material found during in-process inspections.
• Perform internal quality system audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervises facility QA Technicians / Inspectors. Performs inspections of incoming and in-process parts/products to documented specifications from facility processes, procedures and drawings. Works with the site management in setting priorities for inspection. Perform quality system audits.

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift up to 30-45 pounds, requires sitting, standing, walking.
• Experience programming and performing inspections using CMM / Keyence or equivalent test equipment.
• Proficiency in the use of hand tools for precision measurement- micrometers, calipers, rulers and gauges.
• Excellent visual acuity. Requirement may be met with corrected vision.
• Basic electrical and/or mechanical inspection knowledge.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifitications:

• G, D & T knowledge.
• Quality System experience (Auditor training, AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485, etc.).
• Documented proficiency (CQT or equivalent) in visual, electrical and mechanical inspection techniques and test equipment (VOM, calipers, micrometers, microscopes, etc.
