Job summary

Mainstream Engineering Corporation in the New York area is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead QA/QC activities across supplier, incoming, in-process and final inspections, while administering the QMS and ensuring ISO 9001 compliance.

The role is hands-on in a manufacturing/assembly environment handling machined, molded, sheet metal, wiring, electronics and other components for military and commercial sectors.

Qualifications

• Requires AS or BS in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of quality leadership experience.
• Minimum 10 years of overall quality experience.
• Deep knowledge of quality and reliability methods for hardware/software in aerospace/defense.
• Experience with QT9 or similar QMS software is preferred.
• US citizenship is required due to ITAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and train quality inspectors and the QA/QC team.
• Lead quality planning for new product development with engineering inputs.
• Interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Improve inspection procedures and implement proven quality methodologies.
• Perform dimensional inspections and generate inspection reports.
• Administer the QMS software and oversee document revision control.
• Inspect all incoming materials and assemblies; manage supplier quality.
• Maintain quality records for internal and external responses.
• Identify and disposition NCPs and evaluate RMAs.
• Maintain ISO 9001 certification and other required certifications.
