Job summary

Belcan in Beltsville, MD seeks a Quality Manager to lead Quality Leading Indicators, supplier quality oversight, audits and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

You will mentor staff, deploy Quality System tools, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure readiness for customer and third-party assessments.

Requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 3+ years in aerospace quality; ITAR compliance as a US person is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing or quality environment.
• ITAR: U.S. person required (citizen, green card, asylee or refugee).
• ASQ CQE or CMQOE preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and quality software.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for Quality Leading Indicators (QLI) and ensure actions are deployed for program success.
• Coordinate Supplier Quality, quality calibration, audits and special processes to meet quality, cost and delivery goals.
• Lead the Quality team to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the operation at Beltsville.
• Identify training and development needs and address them to raise team capability.
• Deploy Client's quality system tools to enhance QMS effectiveness and readiness for audits.

Pay Rate: $66.47/hr. on W2 (all inclusive)

Position Overview:

Ensure the Quality of Client's products through the development and enforcement of Quality Systems and manufacturing processes while ensuring a continuous improvement atmosphere. Provide direction and supervision to personnel in the functions responsible for Quality Leading Indicators (QLI), Supplier Quality oversight, Quality calibration, audits, special processes while assisting HPWTs. Develop robust tracking, evaluation and structured corrective action activities.

Develop and mentor employees on subjects relating to Quality Systems across a broad spectrum of manufacturing, auditing and processing activities. Ensure fidelity of Quality systems tools, Supplier Quality interaction, reporting, techniques, inspection equipment and processes as appropriate. Lead continuous improvement effort to focus on taking operations to next level.

• Act as a primary organizational contact for Quality Leading Indicators (QLI) execution and ensure appropriate actions are deployed to ensure success of the program.
• Coordinate, direct and prioritize Supplier Quality, Quality calibration, audits, and special processes activities to ensure that leading priorities are focused on key objectives of Quality, compliance, cost, and delivery.
• Lead Quality team to ensure continuous improvement activity is at the forefront.
• Identify the training/mentoring/development needs of the team and ensure those needs are addressed.
• Develop, set and achieve goals associated with the Quality Systems team that are aligned with the Quality Department and Beltsville Plant.
• Communicate Quality Systems issues to front line leaders site personnel and assist them in root cause and sustainable corrective action.
• Deploy Client's Business System tools, where appropriate or required, to improve Quality Management System effectiveness..
• Ensures organizational readiness for customer and other third party assessments related to the product or process. Hosts Customer and Third Party Auditors as needed.
• Coordinates Supplier Quality activities both interdivisional and within supplier QMS.
• Respond to notifications from customer portals, relating to Beltsville products, to ensure actions are being completed and customer requirements are being met or exceeded.
• Review customer requirement updates to ensure compliance

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years" experience in an aerospace manufacturing or quality environment.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate degree from an accredited institution
• 5 years in an Aerospace quality manufacturing role
• 3 years managing people
• 5 years working in a quality systems function
