Job summary

Rocket EMS seeks a self-motivated Quality Supervisor in San Jose to lead Incoming, In-Process and Final Quality Control teams. The role focuses on ensuring products meet customer requirements, internal standards and industry specifications, while coordinating with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve issues.

The ideal candidate will manage priorities, develop team members, and maintain effective communication across departments, with a strong emphasis on inspections and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 knowledge and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and BOMs.
• Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Incoming, In-Process and Final Quality Control inspectors.
• Plan daily workloads and assign personnel by production/shipment priorities.
• Monitor productivity, give feedback, and address performance concerns.
• Review MPIs, process routings, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Ensure inspectors follow MPIs, specs, procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Provide feedback to Engineering on errors or unclear requirements.
• Train and develop Quality Inspectors on inspection skills and quality requirements.
• Ensure resources, tools, equipment and documentation are available for the team.
• Investigate defects not detected during inspection and implement corrective actions.
• Review deviations and verify implementation of requirements.
• Establish and report quality KPIs; promote teamwork and communication.
• Ensure proper shift handoffs and open quality issue follow-ups.
• Attend daily shipment meetings to support shipment requirements.
• Coordinate with other departments when QC does not receive assemblies on time.
• Review and approve employee timecards daily.
