Job summary

Click Bond Watertown, CT is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to lead inspection activities, ensure compliance with aerospace specifications, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires interpreting engineering drawings, coordinating the inspection schedule, and maintaining accurate documentation and training materials for the team.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar or related position preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce reports of inspection acceptance or non-conformance and make appropriate computer entries and provide inspection support as necessary.
• Coordinates the inspection schedule, priorities and staff assignments, as directed by the Supervisor.
• May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities to the inspection team.
• Serves as a Quality Assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
• Communicates problems to area of occurrence, help facilitate and document Root Cause Corrective Action activities.
• Stamp mark of approval for procured product, internally produced product or appropriate shipping documentation.
• Reviews data obtained during quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
• Reports to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
• Stays active and alert to all processes throughout the production day.
• Assures that inspection personnel are following controlled QEMS procedures by performing process audits.
• Use inspection devices (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, vision systems, CMM etc.) to determine product compliance with drawings.
• Assists with documentation of inspection process
• Completes projects as directed by Supervisor or management.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the QEMS.

Job Details: Job Location: Click Bond Watertown - Watertown, CT 06795, Job Category: QA - Quality Control, Leads and directs inspection team and lends advanced knowledge and experience of Click Bond Inc. parts to develop protocols and standards for the Quality Assurance Inspection personnel. When required by reasonable availability, inspects or measures internally manufactured products or procured products and materials to verify compliance with Click Bond or customer furnished engineering drawings and procedures. Serves as primary contact for problems found by the inspection team. Performs process audits to ensure compliance to documented procedures. Coordinates training of inspectors.

• Use inspection devices (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, vision systems, CMM (Coordinate Measurements Machine etc.) to determine product compliance with engineering drawings, purchase orders and associated aerospace specifications.
• Assists with documentation of inspection process
• Completes projects as directed by Supervisor or management.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the QEMS.
• Makes entries in the Click Bond MRP computer system
• Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, procedures and written information.
• Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in decision-making process.

• Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person of an alternate plan.
• Has working knowledge of Lean Principles and process improvement methodologies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as aerospace procedures, engineering requirements, technical procedures, safety rules, and quality assurance manual.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.
• Speaks clearly and confidently in all situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
• Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; presents numerical data effectively.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Understanding of statistical process control as relates to manufacturing and quality assurance.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer navigation skills as well as experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MAX/MRP inventory software and manufacturing software.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar or related position preferred.
• Minimum high school diploma required. Associate Degree preferred
• Minimum 7 years related quality assurance experience and training required or equivalent experience.
• ASQ CQI (Certified Quality Inspector) required or equivalent experience. ASQ CQT (Certified Quality Technician) and CQA (Certified Quality Auditor), CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate), CQPA (Certified Quality Process Analysist), and Six Sigma Greenbelt highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Vision correctable to 20/20.
• Regularly required to use hands and finger, to handle or feel product for burrs or surface finish.
• Frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to walk; sit and stoop, bend, kneel or crouch.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus, occasional microscope work is required.
