Job summary

Socket.dev seeks an experienced Associate Manager, Quality Engineering to lead the QA Chief for the OA-1K Sky Raider II program at the Davis-Monthan AFB. You will supervise QA personnel, implement quality plans, and ensure conformity to FAA and manufacturer standards.

The role requires DoD deployment readiness, strong interfacing with cross-functional teams, and a track record in aircraft maintenance quality control and safety programs. Onsite, with travel and shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Airframe and Powerplant license (A&P).
• Active FAA Inspection Authorization (IA), or the ability to obtain an IA.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as practicing FAA A&P.
• Minimum 1 year experience in Aircraft Quality Control/Assurance.
• Minimum 6 months supervisory/management experience.
• Must meet all physical requirements for deployment and government travel.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Provide direct supervision and leadership to all QA personnel at Davis-Monthan AFB.
• Report to the Program QA Manager on quality operations and program compliance.
• Implement and maintain program quality plans, programs, and procedures for OA-1K aircraft maintenance operations.
• Ensure maintenance actions conform to manufacturer, L3 Harris, and FAA standards.
• Review and analyze quality and safety discrepancies related to maintenance processes.
• Investigate problems and develop corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor, and subcontractor representatives.
• Recommend corrective actions and improvements to quality and safety.
• Oversee Quality, Safety, Training, and Environmental Protection Programs.
