Excella is seeking a Lead Python Engineer in Arlington, VA (Remote Flexible) to design and deliver high-quality software for diverse clients. You will guide technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment with client needs within an Agile framework.

You will lead architecture discussions, enforce best practices, and drive continuous improvement across teams while collaborating with stakeholders and enterprise partners. Strong Python and framework expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software development experience.
• Expertise in Python and frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI).
• Experience with microservices, containers, cloud (Azure/AWS).
• Strong RESTful API design & data modeling.
• OOP, design patterns, and testing strategies.
• Git-based workflows and SDLC familiarity.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication.
• Experience leading teams in consulting/technical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Python-based software solutions for commercial and government clients.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.
