Job summary

Excella, a transformative technology firm, is seeking a Lead Consultant to drive high-quality software solutions and provide technical leadership across projects. You will mentor team members, guide project execution, and ensure alignment with client needs while upholding Agile practices.

You will design and implement Python-based solutions, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, and advocate for modern technologies to improve outcomes across government and commercial engagements.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in software development.
  • Expertise in Python and Python frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
  • Experience with microservices, containers, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Strong REST API design and implementation knowledge.
  • OO design, patterns, and testing strategies.

Responsibilities

Overview

As a Lead Consultant at Excella, you will not only develop high-quality software solutions but also provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members. You will guide project execution, ensuring alignment with client needs while upholding best practices in software development. Your ability to communicate effectively and lead within an Agile environment will be crucial to delivering impactful solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of software solutions for commercial and government clients using Python and Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI .
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance, fostering professional growth within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives .
  • Ensure best practices in coding, architecture, and Agile methodologies are followed.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain high code quality.
  • Advocate for the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance project outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams and projects.
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in software development, with a strong technical foundation.
  • Expertise in Python and Python frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI .
  • Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge in object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, and testing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of database design, ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Strong knowledge in implementing secure programming practices.
  • Proficiency in Git-based workflows and software development lifecycle management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring developers in a consulting or technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of trunk-based development practices such as using feature flags.
  • Knowledge in instrumenting an application for observability.
  • Experience with DevOps and Continuous Delivery tools like Jenkins, Harness, GitLab CI/CD, AWS Lambda, or Terraform.
  • Familiarity using GenAI productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Familiarity with data engineering tools (Pandas, NumPy, Spark, Airflow).

This rangerepresentsthe minimum andmaximumbase salary that Excella reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top or bottom of the range.

Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus in addition to the base salary. This variable pay opportunity is dependent upon the attainment of shared firmwide goals andobjectivesasdeterminedby Excella’s Executive Team. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Pay Range

$139,400 — $190,000 USD
