Lead Python Developer (Hybrid)

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Python Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python, design patterns, and microservices. This role involves leadership responsibilities, including developing enterprise-level web applications. The candidate will ensure robust and efficient system operations to support our company's mission.

Location: Richmond or McLean, VA - USA.

Note: Cognizant will only consider applicants who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.).

Onsite Requirement: Must be at the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise solutions using Python and related technologies.
• Develop scalable web applications and RESTful APIs using Microservices and design patterns.
• Utilize JSON, Web Services, XML, XSLT, and PL/SQL for system development.
• Communicate effectively with clients.
• Lead a team of 6-10 members.
• Apply knowledge of AWS cloud services.
• Work with Kafka, MongoDB, and SQL databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 8+ years of IT experience in Python technologies.
• Experience with Design Patterns, Microservices, and advanced SQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud and integrations.
• Proficiency in Docker, GIT, Maven, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies; self-motivated and analytical.
• AWS certification is a plus.

Salary and Compensation

The annual salary ranges from $81,337 to $141,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for discretionary bonuses and stock awards based on performance.
