Capgemini in New York City is seeking a Senior Python Developer (Migration Lead) to drive the end-to-end migration of our risk analytics platform from SAS to a Python-based stack. You will design scalable architecture and lead cross-functional teams to deliver a compliant, automated solution.

The role requires strong Python expertise, experience migrating SAS code, and a track record of delivering performance-driven data platforms in regulated environments. Hybrid onsite work available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering required (Master's a plus).
• 7+ years of software development experience with Python for data analysis, modeling, or ETL.
• Expert-level Python programming skills (pandas, NumPy) and SAS code migration experience.
• Experience building data-intensive applications or analytics platforms and data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, version control, testing, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of the new Python-based risk analytics architecture and establish coding standards, best practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze SAS code and macros, then rewrite into efficient Python code, preserving model logic and outputs.
• Optimize code and algorithms for performance; leverage data pipelines for large datasets.
• Implement automated testing to verify Python outputs match legacy SAS outputs, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor team members on Python best practices and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support governance and audit requirements.
