Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Public Works/Land Development team in San Antonio, TX. The role requires on-site inspections to ensure adherence to plans, codes, and regulations, and to mentor other inspection personnel.

You will oversee construction methods, coordinate with engineers and contractors, and help develop policies for the inspection team, with opportunities for career growth and ownership in the firm.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction inspection experience on TxDOT or other local government infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, schematics, blueprints, maps, and other construction documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform on-site inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Review and interpret construction plans and specifications for quality and compliance.
• Coordinate and oversee materials testing activities for timely results.
• Prepare and maintain daily reports, field measurements, calculations, sketches, and inspection records.
