Job summary

The State of Arkansas seeks a Health Program Coordinator to oversee planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs within the Division of Health Protection - Rural Health.

This role provides leadership and technical guidance to Health Program Specialists, aligning activities with state public health goals, agency standards, and applicable regulations. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or a closely related field plus two years of public health experience.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating public health programs preferred.
  • Experience creating databases, reports, and presentations in Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, implementation, and monitoring of assigned public health programs.
  • Provide technical assistance and mentorship to staff in program development and delivery.
  • Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of program performance data for informed decisions.
  • Develop program plans, budgets, and timelines ensuring grant and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with local health units, schools, healthcare providers, nonprofits, and agencies to promote community-based services and collaborations.
  • Prepare and manage program documentation including grant reports and training materials.
  • Facilitate trainings, advisory groups, and public health campaigns relevant to goals.
