Job summary

State of Washington in Port Townsend seeks a Public Benefits Specialist 4 Lead Worker to guide a team processing cash, medical, and food benefits. You’ll assign work, audit performance, and coach staff to maintain high service standards throughout case processing.

You will establish financial eligibility, interpret complex rules, and develop procedures to improve efficiency. You’ll verify overpayments and review cases for accuracy, supporting clients through applications.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and procedures to determine program eligibility.
• Proficient use of Community Service Division computer systems.
• Ability to review state data to make accurate eligibility decisions.
• Interact respectfully with staff and the public, demonstrating responsiveness.

Responsibilities
