Job summary

OSF HealthCare seeks a Lead Proton Radiation Physicist to oversee the technical aspects of proton beam therapy, ensuring safe and accurate treatment delivery and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include QA testing, calibration of therapy equipment, and reviewing treatment plan calculations while collaborating with staff to maintain high-quality patient care for adult and geriatric populations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program with completion of a two-year residency in medical physics.
  • Certification in Therapeutic Radiology Physics or Radiation Physics by ABR or ABMP.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical aspects of proton beam radiation therapy to ensure safe and accurate delivery of treatments.
  • Perform quality assurance testing and calibration of proton beam radiotherapy equipment.
  • Review treatment plan calculations and collaborate with staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
