Job summary

ROCHESTER GAS & ELEC CORP in Rochester, NY seeks a Lead Engineer for Protection & Control (P&C) Projects. You will oversee the electric protection scope for substation projects, coordinating with project managers and engineers across disciplines.

Define P&C requirements for greenfield and brownfield work, and manage multiple projects concurrently. You will develop relay diagrams, BOMs, and RFP input, review external designs for standards compliance, and guide studies to ensure system reliability

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Professional engineering license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide engineering design, estimating, and analysis of protection systems for substations and transmission.
• Develop system protection platforms and coordination with stakeholders.
• Review and ensure designs meet company and regulatory standards (IEC, IEEE, NERC, NYPSC).
• Lead studies and fault analyses to improve reliability and safety.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
