Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Lead Propulsion Test Engineer at the Stennis Test Center to oversee a team of engineers and technicians conducting liquid rocket engine propulsion tests. You will develop and execute test procedures, ensure data quality, and coordinate procurements and vendors.

You will drive safety, schedule management, and facility capability improvements, aligning with propulsion design and ITAR requirements to deliver reliable test outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Engineering degree.
• Experience meeting engineering experience title and skills.
• Propulsion industry experience.
• Proven track record of leading a team to deliver multiple projects.
• Broad experience in propulsion testing and operations: design/analysis, cryogenics, high pressure systems, modelling.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineers and technicians who run liquid rocket engine propulsion tests.
• Generate and execute detailed test procedures.
• Review and interpret test data for facility health and engine performance.
• Specify and procure components and propellants.
• Manage vendors and subcontractors.
• Plan and oversee facility schedule.
• Support requirements development with propulsion design team.
• Establish requirements for new facility capability.
• Contribute to configuration management, quality, cost, and process control.
• Advocate for safety of the test team and test stand operations.
