Job summary

Stellantis is seeking an Advanced Controls Lead Engineer in Michigan to lead propulsion control design and calibration for next‑gen propulsion systems. You will drive cross‑functional development from concept to in‑vehicle prototyping and testing.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in propulsion control, strong leadership, and expertise in model-based development tools such as MATLAB/SIMULINK, with a focus on engine, transmission, and electrified powertrains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of total experience
  • Demonstrated ability in control algorithm development methodologies including virtual co-simulation tools
  • Effective problem solving ability
  • Demonstrated technical leadership on propulsion system control & calibration development projects
  • Ability to mentor and train others and elevate team knowledge
  • 5 years of sustained performance and leadership
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of propulsion control strategies for conventional and electrified propulsion systems
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership including new processes and methodologies
  • Mentor and guide colleagues, coordinate activities and bring projects to successful conclusions
  • Collaborate across engine, transmission, and powertrain teams and drive rapid prototyping and in-vehicle testing
