Job summary

ADP is seeking a Lead Project/Program Manager to guide client HCM implementations from initiation through closure, coordinating milestones, deliverables, and resources to meet business goals.

You will build trusted partnerships with clients and internal teams, manage multi-year, cross-functional efforts, and drive continuous improvement. A degree is helpful but not required; 8+ years' PM experience and relevant certifications are valued.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management or continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience leading medium to large cross-functional projects from concept to delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of project management processes, tools, and structured methodologies.
  • Ability to build partnerships and collaborate with client teams and internal partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly.
  • Willingness to coach, mentor, and develop others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a project team to implement client HCM projects across lifecycle, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and budgets are met.
  • Develop strong partnerships at all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
  • Identify cross-functional resources and assemble diverse teams to drive project success.
  • Provide status reports including business case, ROI, and post-project review.
  • Assess, manage, resolve, and elevate risks and issues as needed.
  • Promote best practices and process improvements to enhance client implementations.

In this role, you will lead a project team to implement client HCM projects by planning, organizing, controlling, and deploying key milestones, deliverables, and resources according to client and business goals. You will use specific templates and techniques to manage through the preferred project life cycle to ensure business goals and objectives are accomplished within designated timeframes and budgets. The nature of what you do every day will not change -- your #1 goal is to lead the project team to successfully implement clients on HCM products and services. Still, every day will be different because the questions you receive will vary, as will the solutions you provide each client. Not afraid to be the owner of your project? You will provide analysis and status reports of the project, including business case, ROI, and post-project review. You will assess, manage, resolve, and elevate (if necessary) risks and issues.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
  • You have at least 8 years of project management experience and/or continuous improvement experience
  • You have prior work experience leading medium to large cross-functional and/or multi-year projects from concept to delivery
  • You possess strong knowledge of project management processes, tools, and structured methodologies
  • You guide and inspire others in a consultative approach and drive collaboration and client focus with the project team and internal partners
  • You communicate effectively, both verbal and written
  • You manage multiple and changing priorities (flexibility/adaptability)
  • You demonstrate learning agility and critical thinking skills and apply basic concepts in new situations
  • You work and thrive independently and in a collaborative environment; you partner, collaborate, and work in a team (and matrixed) environment
  • You coach, train, and mentor other team members with less experience

A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills to do the job. Other acceptable experiences could include:

Preferred Qualifications
  • You bring industry expertise to each client solution and apply best practices through in-depth client consultation
  • You maintain focus and work effectively with multiple demands

  • You're process-oriented with a high attention to details
  • You're proficient using Microsoft Office suite and have experience with Financial Force, Anaplan, Confluence, or similar tools
  • You have experience in the Human Capital Management (HCM) Industry and/or knowledge and understanding of payroll
  • You have PMP, PgMP, PHR, SPHR, CCP, CBP, HCS, or other similar certifications from highly recognized professional learning institutions
