Job summary

Stadler is seeking a Lead Project Mechanical Engineer (TPM-M) to join our team in Salt Lake City, focused on designing state-of-the-art passenger trains. You will manage complex interfaces between systems and collaborate with international design teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering degree, 3–5 years in relevant industries, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent
  • 3–5 years experience in rail vehicle, defense, aerospace, or similar
  • Experience in challenging projects in an international environment
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Business fluent in English (German a bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Handle mechanical design on international projects for modular vehicle families
  • Implement customer specifications per national standards and regulations
  • Own mechanical topics on the Project Team
  • Develop concepts, specifications, production docs, test plans, type tests
  • Plan and manage internal engineering activities including interfaces and approvals
  • Create engineering documents
  • Communicate with customers, authorities, and external bodies
  • Propose and communicate technical solutions to Production, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality teams
  • Implement engineering changes per change process
