Job summary

Hussey Copper, located in Eminence, KY, seeks an experienced Project Engineer to lead capital projects from concept through commissioning. You will guide cross‑functional teams with operations, maintenance, and vendors to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualified candidates have 7+ years in heavy industrial PM, a degree in engineering from ABET/EAC, and strong skills in AutoCAD and MS Project. Onsite role with emphasis on safety and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
• 7+ years of project management experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, with 7–10 years preferred.
• Experience leading projects valued at $1M–$20M, including installation of new equipment and processes.
• Experience directing internal teams and external contractors through project execution.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital and expense projects from development through installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, resource plans, communication plans, and change management plans.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate internal resources, vendors, and contractors to meet objectives.
• Provide hands-on engineering support on the production floor and in the office, including installation and troubleshooting.
• Track milestones, spending, risks, and performance; report to stakeholders and leadership.
• Identify risks, resolve issues, and manage changes to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Incorporate safety and regulatory requirements into all project phases and oversee training for readiness.
