Job description

As a Lead Project Engineer, you will lead the development of AP1000 projects from initiation to completion. You will manage project design and coordination, ensuring excellence, compliance, and delivery. The Lead Project Engineer will work with the Project Manager, Engineering Manager, and business and technical teams, providing technical leadership and expertise to support project success.

You will report to the Manager of Engineering for Poland AP1000 Project Engineering. This position is hybrid from the US, based in Cranberry Woods, PA, in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. No relocation provided. We can entertain candidates able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with goals and industry standards.
2. Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for cost-effective, on-time completion.
3. Collaborate with our teams, clients, and vendors to define requirements and resolve technical challenges.
4. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout all project phases.
5. Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
6. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
7. Conduct feasibility studies, scope development reviews, and performance evaluations for project optimization.
8. Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and project outcomes.

Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of experience.
2. International travel to support the Poland project.
3. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related).
4. 8 years of project engineering/management or equivalent roles of increased responsibilities, with experience leading successful projects of large scope.
5. Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and regulatory standards.
6. Proficiency in project management and engineering software like Primavera and Microsoft Project.
7. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating across departments.
8. Interest in obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification.
9. General knowledge of Westinghouse nuclear products like AP1000, AP300, eVinci.
