Hitachi Energy in the Raleigh/Cary, North Carolina area is seeking a Project Controls Lead to join our Grid Integration team. You will bridge engineering and project stakeholders, guiding priorities, managing risk, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex power system projects.

This hybrid role requires a strong background in controls, SCADA, SAS, or industrial control systems, with leadership experience and excellent communication to influence project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 4–7 years in industrial control systems, SAS, or related power tech.
• Experience leading projects, coordinating schedules, or driving execution.
• Knowledge of HMI, SCADA, industrial communications, and networked control systems.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, schedule development, scope reviews, and budget forecasting for controls projects.
• Coordinate across disciplines to resolve technical challenges and drive execution.
• Manage risks, opportunities, and change requests throughout the lifecycle.
• Monitor performance and drive metrics like on-time delivery and quality.
• Verify HMI/SCADA applications for FACTS and power electronics projects.
• Support communications network implementation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and project reviews.
• Influence outcomes by enabling collaboration between technical teams, customers and stakeholders.
