Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks a Lead Project Controls Cost Analyst to work onsite at a major EPC power plant construction site supporting a data center project. The role focuses on expert cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting through the construction phase to drive informed decisions.

Responsibilities include maintaining EVMS, cost control, variance analysis, and collaboration with project teams to ensure budgets and schedules align. Per diem may be available for non-local candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project controls with focus on earn value management, cost analysis and forecasting in power/energy/heavy industrial construction.
• Proven experience leading cost control on large multi-million dollar projects.
• Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, EcoSys, or similar enterprise PM systems.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• PMP or AACE certification desirable.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

• Maintain comprehensive cost control systems including Earned Value Management, Change Management, Cost Control and Forecasting for large-scale industrial construction projects.
• Prepare detailed project forecasts and identify variances with mitigation strategies.
• Conduct cost variance analysis to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
• Generate cost reports, progress reports and financial summaries for management, clients, and executives.
• Collaborate with project management, field teams, procurement and accounting to align cost objectives.
• Lead and mentor junior cost analysts on cost control methodologies.
• Develop and maintain WBS and CBS for projects.
• Review invoices, change orders and subcontracts for cost accuracy.
• Utilize Primavera P6, EcoSys, Viewpoint to manage cost data.
• Participate in project reviews and risk assessment meetings with financial insights.

Job description

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Lead Project Controls Cost Analyst to work onsite at an EPC power plant construction site supporting a data center project. This position will provide expert cost analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting throughout the construction phase of complex EPC industrial power projects.

The Lead Project Controls Cost Analyst will be responsible for maintaining strong financial controls, analyzing project costs and trends, developing accurate forecasts, and providing timely reporting to support informed decision-making and overall project success.

Project Locations:

Multiple opportunities are available throughout Central and North Texas, as well as the Kansas City, Missouri area.

Candidates who do not reside locally to the assigned project site may be eligible for per diem.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain comprehensive cost control systems and procedures, including Earned Value Management, Change Management, Cost Control and Forecasting, for large-scale industrial construction projects.

• Review and validate invoices, change orders, and subcontracts for cost accuracy and adherence to project budgets.
• Utilize project controls software (e.g., Primavera P6, EcoSys, Viewpoint) to manage and analyze project cost data.
• Participate in project reviews and risk assessment meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in project controls, with a strong focus on earn value management, cost analysis and forecasting within the power, energy, or heavy industrial construction sectors.
• Proven experience leading cost control efforts on large, complex, multi-million dollar projects.
• Expert proficiency in project controls software such as Primavera P6, EcoSys, or similar enterprise project management systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data visualization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• PMP or AACE certification (e.g., CCP, EVP) is highly desirable.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
