Job summary

Tuskegee University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Large Animal Anesthesiology to advance teaching, research, and service in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The successful candidate will lead instruction in anesthesia and analgesia, supervise large animal anesthesia services, and develop perioperative care plans for a variety of cases.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Post-graduate clinical experience in large animal anesthesia preferred.
• Board certification in large animal medicine or surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching in anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative care.
• Provide and supervise large animal anesthesia services and monitoring.
• Develop anesthetic and pain management plans for routine and complex cases.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure safe patient care.
• Participate in emergency after-hours anesthesia coverage.
• Mentor students and trainees.
• Support equipment readiness and procedures.
• Engage in research and community service aligned with the college mission.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Department Head.
