Job summary

ASPLS in Birmingham, Alabama seeks an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead our surveying team from field to final deliverables. You will oversee field crews, review data, and ensure accuracy of plats, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and site plans.

The ideal candidate holds an Alabama PLS license (active or eligible for reactivation) and is proficient with Carlson Software, GPS/GNSS, and CAD tools, following Alabama standards.

Qualifications

• Active Alabama PLS license or eligibility for reactivation.
• (no trailing spaces)
• Experience in construction staking and site surveying.
• Strong knowledge of ALTA/NSPS surveys and as-builts.
• Ability to review field data, calculations, plats and deliverables.
• Proficiency with modern surveying equipment and GPS/GNSS.
• Experience coordinating field crews with contractors and engineers.
• Understanding of Alabama surveying standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field crew operations from stakeout to final deliverables.
• Monitor data quality and ensure accurate plats and surveys.
• Prepare or review surveys, plans, and related documents.
• Coordinate with engineers, developers and property owners.
