Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Lead Production Operator in North Carolina to oversee the efficient flow of raw materials into high-quality finished products and ensure equipment is maintained in good working order. You will coordinate with Maintenance to address breakdowns and drive continuous improvement across the plant.

The role requires supervisory experience, 2–3 years in manufacturing, and a proactive approach to safety and targets.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years supervisory/management experience.
  • 2–3 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the timely and efficient flow of raw materials into finished products.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and coordinate with Maintenance for repairs.
  • Manage breakdowns and schedule timely repairs in coordination with Maintenance.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of responsibility.
  • Meet individual and department targets and objectives.
  • Observe all safety rules and participate in regular safety meetings with plant staff.
  • Assist in accident investigations and recommend safety improvements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

  • Maintain efficient and timely flow of all raw materials received and finished products shipped.
  • Oversee the equipment used to process raw & finished materials is kept in good working order.
  • Effectively manage all instances of breakdowns and coordinate with Maintenance to ensure needed repairs are made in timely manner.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in all areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for achieving individual and department targets, goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Require 1-2 years of prior experience in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of prior work experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical school certificate or Associates Degree preferred.
  • Labor relations background and experience with leadership & training.
  • Good understanding of production maintenance and repair protocols
