Job summary

Vail Resorts in Truckee, CA, is seeking a Lead for Product Sales and Service to drive exceptional guest experiences across tickets, passes, ski and ride lessons, and activities. You will welcome guests, coach the team, and model Epic Service to deliver seamless experiences from purchase to departure.

The role requires 2+ years in customer service or ticket sales, the ability to work outdoors in mountain conditions, and fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional guest service with Epic Service standards.
  • Lead PSS operations across tickets, passes, lessons, activities.
  • Coach the team to reflect resort brand at every guest interaction.
  • Oversee opening/closing procedures and service flow.
  • Resolve complex guest issues with empathy and sound judgment.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless guest journeys.
  • Support setup/teardown of PSS locations and maintain readiness.

Job Summary

The Lead for Product Sales and Service is part of the Product Sales & Services (PSS) Department, delivering an Experience of a Lifetime by providing exceptional guest service and possessing knowledge and leadership skills to work collaboratively with the team as well as leadership in the sale of tickets, passes, ski and snowboard lessons, activities, childcare, and more. Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts, and our Product Sales team plays a critical role in bringing that commitment to life. As the face of Vail Resorts, these team members create seamless, memorable moments for our guests—serving as the gateway to every epic adventure across our resorts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Model exceptional guest service by creating meaningful, personalized interactions and consistently bringing Vail Resorts’ commitment to Epic Service to life
  • Serve as the on-floor operational leader and trusted expert across all PSS lines of business—including tickets, passes, Ski & Ride School, activities, and greeter functions—ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience.
  • Inspire and coach the team to consistently reflect the resort brand and culture across every stage of the guest journey—from purchase to wayfinding to departure.
  • Lead daily operations with presence and accountability, including opening and closing procedures, real-time decision‑making, break coordination, and service flow oversight.
  • Act as a “leader of the moment,” stepping in to support team members, remove obstacles, and ensure consistent execution of service standards during both peak and off‑peak periods.
  • Take ownership of complex guest needs, de‑escalation, and service recovery situations, resolving concerns with confidence, empathy, and sound judgment or partnering with leadership as needed.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate professionally across channels—including in person, phone, and email—with guests, travel partners, property teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support team success through training, hands‑on coaching, knowledge sharing, and in‑the‑moment guidance that builds confidence and capability across the team.
  • Reinforce a culture of recognition and accountability by providing timely, constructive feedback to leadership and celebrating strong individual and team performance.
  • Maintain deep, current knowledge of resort products, policies, and operations, serving as a key resource for both guests and team members.
  • Partner cross‑functionally in a professional manner with all resort departments to proactively address operational needs and ensure alignment in delivering a seamless guest journey.
  • Oversee the readiness and functionality of the sales environment, including facilities, equipment, and inventory, and coordinate with Facilities, IT, and other teams to quickly resolve issues.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and welcoming environment by maintaining awareness of conditions and ensuring operational standards are consistently met.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, ownership, and a team‑first mindset while supporting evolving business needs and performing other duties as assigned.
  • Support daily setup and teardown of PSS locations, including pulling reports, organizing signage and stanchions, and ensuring spaces are properly prepared and secured.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in customer service or ticket sales required
  • Flexibility to work both inside and outside with exposure to the elements
  • Adherence to safety standards and procedures as a core company value.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Basic computer proficiency including the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs

A Lead is a flexible employee who often works and leads across multiple departments and in various roles to support the one resort mentality which could include one of the following:

The expected pay range is $21.50/hr - $26.88/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
