Occasional in‑person attendance is required for all employees, regardless of location.

Job Overview

This position is a foundational hire — Scribd's first product management role focused inward, with the company itself as the customer. You will lead Scribd's AI transformation, with the developer platform as the center of gravity, shaping the evolution of the developer & agentic experience.

About the Role

You will spend real time with developers and engineering teams to understand their workflows, manage friction, and define the next leap. Your responsibilities include leading product strategy for developer experience, measuring its impact, and guiding the internal app and agent platforms that every function depends on. This role reports to the Director, Developer Platform, and partners closely with Engineering and Product leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the unified agentic enablement roadmap. Pull together the in‑flight AI workstreams across Scribd into a cohesive, sequenced roadmap and decide what is shared infrastructure versus function‑specific.
  • Serve as product owner for the internal app and agent platforms. Define and drive product strategy for the internal app platform, the plugin marketplace, and the agent runtime, ensuring they meet real needs of each function.
  • Translate between functions and the platform. Sit with different functions and their leaders to understand workflows, turn that into buildable requirements, and translate platform capabilities into actionable features.
  • Drive cross‑functional commitments to closure. Keep load‑bearing shared infrastructure moving in lockstep and surface any seams before they fragment.
  • Make agentic enablement legible to the company. Define metrics that matter — adoption, throughput, time recovered, evaluation quality, impact — and report against them to build a narrative that gains buy‑in.
  • Partner on go‑to‑market for internal users. Plan and run rollouts, education, and feedback loops that drive measurable adoption; treat internal rollouts as rigorously as external launches.
About You
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with notable focus owning developer tooling, AI platforms, or internal productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated success in owning ambiguous, cross‑functional product surfaces end‑to‑end without a pre‑existing playbook.
  • Hands‑on experience shipping real products with modern AI/LLM primitives — prompting, evals, tool use, agentic workflows, MCP, plugin or skill ecosystems, or comparable concepts.
  • Strong technical fluency. Ability to hold your own with engineers on system design, API tradeoffs, evaluation methodology, and agent architectures.
  • Track record of being a trusted technical‑strategy partner to engineering leadership, with influence at the architecture and roadmap horizon.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to move between engineering deep‑dive, function‑lead strategy, and executive narrative within the same week.
  • Comfortable moving things forward when priorities, scope, and ownership are still being defined.
Bonus Points
  • A background that includes engineering, technical program management, or applied AI work in addition to product management.
  • Experience as a PM, technical lead, or founder building internal‑facing developer tools, AI platforms, or productivity products at scale.
  • Direct experience with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or other agentic coding environments.
  • Familiarity with the operating realities of a multi‑product subscription business and a software stack that spans Ruby, Go, TypeScript, Python, and the AWS/Databricks ecosystem.
  • Prior experience standing up a new function or a new PM role in an organization.
Compensation

Base pay ranges vary by location. For California: $171,000 to $256,500. Outside California in the United States: $141,000 to $244,000. In Canada: 179,000 CAD to 228,000 CAD. The position is also eligible for competitive equity ownership and a comprehensive benefits package.
