Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Lead Product Designer to join our People Assurance team in a remote US-based role. You will collaborate with Head of Design, Product and Engineering to design for frontline employees and administrators, with initial focus on Wisetail coverage and transitioning to a Senior UX Designer.

Strong UX thinking and governance of design systems will be key. Responsibilities include leading design direction, creating polished interfaces, prototyping, and mentoring other designers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience designing digital products or software experiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in design, human–computer interaction, visual communication or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience leading design direction for a digital product, application or major user journey, with responsibility for interface direction, shared patterns or design decisions across a team.
• Professional experience designing product interfaces in Figma and building or maintaining reusable components or a design system.
• Experience working with Product and Engineering to carry product designs through implementation.
• Experience guiding other designers through design reviews, hands‑on feedback or mentoring.
• A portfolio link or PDF showing a shipped digital product or substantial user workflow, submitted with the application.
• This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States. This position is not eligible for work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design direction for agreed Convergence product areas. Explore alternatives, make clear recommendations and connect customer needs, business priorities and technical constraints to the experience.
• Create polished interfaces and intuitive interactions with strong hierarchy, typography, layout and attention to detail.
• Use sketches, wireframes and interactive prototypes to explore ideas, explain behavior and test decisions.
• Apply strong UX thinking to journeys, navigation and task flows. Resolve permissions, dependencies and relevant loading, empty, error and recovery states.
• Build new alongside existing design systems to develop reusable components and interaction patterns.
• Work with Product and research partners to understand customer workflows and test important assumptions.
• Partner closely with engineers to work within the existing platform and integration constraints.
• Lead constructive design reviews and mentor other designers through hands‑on feedback.
