Job summary

Monzo is seeking passionate designers to shape the future of our web experiences. You’ll combine strong visual and interaction craft with a data-informed mindset, using experimentation and customer insights to continuously improve the discovery and decision paths before customers even open the app.

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Research, applying exceptional craft to high-impact journeys while contributing to the growth of the design team and advancing Monzo’s mission

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrates strong visual and interaction design craft.
• Comfortable using data to inform design decisions, partnering with Data Scientists or Analysts.
• Connect great customer experiences with measurable outcomes and align design with product and commercial goals.
• Able to form hypotheses, run experiments, and adapt thinking based on learnings.
• Balance speed and experimentation with a high bar for craft, knowing when to prototype and when to invest in final polish.
• Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Data, and Research to solve complex customer problems.
• Thrive in ambiguity and create clarity and direction when the answer isn’t obvious.
• Think beyond a single screen, connecting work across journeys and shaping long-term vision.
• Mentor others and contribute to growth of the design team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of high-quality web experiences that help customers discover Monzo’s value.
• Use data to identify opportunities, understand behavior and inform design decisions.
• Turn problems into hypotheses, design experiments, and apply learnings to future work.
• Bring exceptional visual and interaction craft to web experiences to drive outcomes.
• Define product visions and direction for a coherent long-term customer experience.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data and Research throughout the design process.
